What this role is all about

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer in Infobip’s AgentOS Base, you will play a key role in building and evolving large-scale customer engagement and automation platforms, including our AgentOS solution. This role is strongly backend-oriented and requires deep hands-on Java expertise, as the core systems are built around Java and the JVM ecosystem. You will work on technically demanding challenges involving scalability, concurrency, orchestration, and distributed communication flows used across global communication channels. You will join small, initiative-driven teams of 5–6 engineers within a larger engineering organization, contributing primarily on the backend while occasionally supporting frontend development when needed.

What you’ll do

• Design, build, and maintain complex backend services using Java and the JVM ecosystem as the primary technology stack.

• Develop distributed, multithreaded systems powering automation, orchestration, and 2-way communication platforms such as AgentOS.

• Contribute to the evolution and unification of multiple SaaS products, including Answers, Moments, and AI Agents.

• Build reliable and scalable solutions with a strong focus on backend architecture, system performance, and maintainability.

• Contribute to frontend development using React and TypeScript.

• Collaborate closely within a small, cross-functional engineering team through planning sessions, code reviews, and retrospectives.

• Write and maintain unit and integration tests to support long-term system reliability and scalability.

• Apply an AI-first mindset by exploring and integrating AI or LLM-based capabilities into product features where relevant.

What makes you a strong fit

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, primarily focused on backend development.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java is mandatory; deep understanding of object-oriented programming and the JVM ecosystem is essential for success in this role.

• Proven experience building scalable backend systems using multithreading, concurrency, and distributed architectures.

• Experience working with multiple interconnected services and large-scale system design challenges.

• Ability to independently drive backend solutions from design through implementation and maintenance.

• Familiarity with frontend technologies such as React and TypeScript is a strong plus.

• Comfortable collaborating in small engineering teams with shared ownership and initiative-based delivery.

• Fluent in English, both spoken and written.

Nice-to-have qualifications

• Experience with Kotlin; prior Scala experience is also considered valuable due to JVM familiarity.

• Exposure to AI, NLP, or LLM-based systems, particularly integrating AI capabilities into production environments.

• Experience working on complex SaaS platforms serving a broad range of customer use cases.

• Interest in mentoring engineers and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
