The Design Team is a dynamic, multidisciplinary group of Product designers, Web designers, UX researchers, UX writers, and Graphic designers. We're building the future of digital freedom across our cybersecurity suite products, such as NordVPN, NordPass, Saily & Coveron. We are helping millions of users own their online lives. We aim to simplify the complex world of cybersecurity for everyone. We're looking for a Product Designer to join our NordVPN Apps Design team. This position is about owning the design for your squad, running your projects end to end, and increasingly questioning the brief, not just delivering on it.

Main responsibilities

• Own the whole flow. Design experiences that feel native on iOS, Android, macOS, Windows, and browser extensions while staying recognizably Nord. Explore multiple directions, you’ll think through problems from the ground up, instead of copying what's been done before and always know the why behind your choices.

• Push the problem, not just the pixels. You'll surface assumptions early with your PO and engineers, challenge briefs when the evidence points elsewhere, and sometimes make the call that the best design is removing a flow entirely.

• Craft with the system. Apply our design system without losing intent and help it grow. When you spot a gap, you propose the component, not the workaround.

• Ship, don't just design. Back your decisions with evidence while partnering with UX Research or running validation yourself. Stay close to engineers through the build and own Design QA so what ships is what you intended.

Core requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in product design (mobile & desktop apps), with work that shows fluency across platforms and growing ownership of complex problems.

• Smart prototyping: You pick the right tool for the question. Quick mockups for flow logic, high-fidelity prototypes when the interaction needs to feel real, AI when you need breadth fast. Prototype with real data.

• Ownership and communication: You handle disagreement constructively, bring engineering realities in before they become blockers, and earn the kind of trust that gets you invited in early.

• Attention to detail: You have a meticulous eye for visual and interaction details while crafting high-quality, user-friendly experiences.

Additional

• Experience designing accessible and inclusive interfaces for people with disabilities is a strong plus. Understanding how to apply WCAG conformance criteria in design is highly valued.

• Experience in motion design.
