What this role is all about
The Senior Legal Associate sits within Corporate & General Affairs, part of the company's Legal function. The role covers day-to-day corporate legal matters, corporate governance and statutory compliance, and legal support on transactions, projects, and policy development across multiple jurisdictions.
What you'll do
- Manage day-to-day corporate legal matters and independently handle more complex tasks, agreements, and projects within the Corporate & General Affairs legal team.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and maintain a wide range of legal documents, including intercompany agreements, procurement agreements, financing documentation, real estate-related agreements, NDAs, service agreements, sponsorships, and other general corporate documentation.
- Support corporate governance activities, including company incorporations, restructurings, mergers, acquisitions, liquidations, capital changes, shareholder resolutions, board documentation, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with external legal advisors, auditors, notaries, regulatory authorities, and other external stakeholders when required.
- Support involvement in litigation, dispute resolution, and monitoring of ongoing matters, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
- Lead or contribute to legal initiatives and cross-functional projects involving Finance, Tax, Treasury, HR, Procurement, Facilities, IT, and other business functions.
- Monitor execution of corporate & general legal affairs strategies and initiatives and propose actions to ensure timely implementation.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve legal policies, procedures, templates, and governance processes.
- Provide practical legal guidance to business stakeholders regarding corporate governance and contractual matters.
- Monitor legislative developments and assess their impact on the company's operations and legal obligations.
- Support regional and global legal projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with company standards and governance requirements.
- Mentor Legal Administrators and support knowledge sharing within the team.
What makes you a strong fit
- A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law.
- At least 2–4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in corporate/commercial and general legal affairs.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, contract law, and corporate governance principles.
- Experience supporting M&A is highly valued.
- Familiarity with company secretarial, statutory compliance, and corporate housekeeping activities, as well as corporate finance matters (e.g., financing, treasury, and intercompany arrangements), is considered an advantage.
- Ability to independently manage multiple legal matters and stakeholders in a fast-paced international environment.
- Strong analytical skills and sound business judgment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional languages are considered an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools.
