River AI

River AI builds a personal AI system that individuals own and shape themselves, in contrast to chatbots controlled by large corporations. The platform runs LoRA-based fine-tuning and reinforcement learning on open-source models from 35B to 1T parameters, exposed through a Python API, with plans for dedicated hardware and local infrastructure. It was founded by xAI co-founder Igor Babuschkin together with Ukrainian twin brothers Ievgen and Dmytro Soboliev, both former xAI and Apple engineers.
